History:
Linda Friitawa is not a well known Doctor, but she is a Doctor nonetheless. A scientist by trade, who after losing her medical license- fell on the wrong side of the tracks. Those tracks had led her to Jonathan Crane, a deranged, twisted psychatrist whose work with drugs and fear-inducing toxins was too much for one woman to resist. Their working relationship was flawed: she had been hired by the Penguin to spy on the one they called the Scarecrow, and ended up mutating him, turning him into a creature who killed off the Penguins disloyal followers.
Linda herself possessed a unique power: she could exhale the same fear-inducing toxin that the Scarecrow spent years trying to refine.
Distancing herself from Scarecrow and the mess that was building in Gotham, she spent much of her time trying to create her own genetic expiriments to change her physical appearance. As a born albino, she was easily pointed out in a crowd. But she knew, if she could change herself, change her appearance, no one would know it was her. Success came many months after painstaking research and testing, and instead of being a white-blonde, her hair started to take on a new colour, slowly at first, going from its natural colour, to a strawberry blonde, and it changed the way she saw herself, as a woman, as a power....she could do things that Dr. Crane could never dream of- she was a power that Batman could never control...by genetically modifying herself, she became stronger, she became more potent...she became Fear.
During the wars, Linda kept to herself- not fighting along any side, except for her own. There was no reason to protect anyone that did not matter anything to her: the only one she needed to protect, was herself. As they raged on, she spent most of her time watching the city destroy itself, building up her own resources, refining her own powers. But when human tribulations angered the very grounds they were fought upon, the war changed- it was no longer man versus man- good versus evil, but element versus human- and as history has shown, time and time again: the elements rarely lose.
The city in chaos, Linda packed her resources, and abandonned Gotham, travelling along the now desert-like plains of the United States. Along with the changes in climate- her physical appearance was now vastly different to what she had been: her hair was now a shocking shade of red, and her eyes were a frightning shade of blue. Many people underestimated her, when she encountered them. Thinking her a weak female, they would try to take her, or her resources- and failed....
She'd travelled a long way on her own, and has finally found her way to Charleston, where stories have it, that Batman has claimed it for his own, against all the bad in the world...but there was a more interesting rumour floating around...it seemed that a certain Scarecrow had staked himself into the ground, to strike fear into the hearts of all he touched...and Fright herself, was eager to see, just how scary her old friend had become...
